Adoptable Backstory Concept: Flightly Hoof -EDIT-

An earth pony named Flightly Hoof is a blank flank living in the harsh city of Manehattan. Her family is on the brink of homelessness, always struggling to pay the next month's bills and have food for the 7-pony blank flank family. Flightly Hoof went to a school aimed for Manehattan pegasi, and has a lot of pegasus friends. To make up for her lack of wings, Flightly Hoof could find a way to climb up and around the tall buildings in the city to reach her friends' hangouts.

Ever since Flightly Hoof was young, she had wanted to to be useful for her family. She felt like extra weight that should be tossed. The only working ponies in her family were her father and adult sister, and their jobs payed each half the minimum wage. She learned to have harsh pessimism, because it was easier for the family to expect the worst. But when Flightly Hoof is jumping from slim ledge to slim ledge 50 feet above the ground, her pessimism is nonexistant. Even when she falls, she can recover no matter how radical the chances are.

It became her decision to begin posting her daring stunts on ManeTube, a popular video-posting site. She asked her friends to film her feats with a camcorder she found in the trash. After only two videos, she was given reception of all flavors. Awe, disbelief, worry, and hate, she absorbed it all and dived further into the actual art of "stunt-climbing". The largest spike in subscribers was mainly from her school. The pegasai there told their friends, and those friends posted her videos on social networks, and the fever began. Her videos were an overnight success, and after only 10 videos, the admins of ManeTube requested that her channel be registered as a partner of the website. She was given a percentage of the profits resulting from views, likes and anything that would relate to the rising numbers of subscribers. When Flightly Hoof began accumulating money, she kept her true source secret, and told her family that she had found a part-time job. One performance was caught on live TV news in Manehattan, and caused her entire neighborhood to come to Flightly Hoof's family and share words of concern.

"She'll get herself hurt" most insisted.

"You should disipline her before her death burdens you" some else asserted, believing that Flightly Hoof's stunts were a result of neglect and rebelliousness.

Flightly Hoof's parents were highly concerned by the lack of safety measures their child makes when her videos are filmed. The only last resort from death is her friends' reaction to her falling. But she says to them it can't be helped.

"Because I've never felt so useful in my entire life." Her words echoed in her head and reverberated in her chest; they finally seeped down deep into the core of her soul. That was when she was awarded her cutie mark. The wings Flightly Hoof lacked on her body were now given as her Symbol of Purpose. When this all happened in front of the entire family, there was a sharp change in opinions. Her family then believed she could do her climbing however she desired, because she was the first in four generations of her lineage to recieve a cutie mark. This phenomenon told them that she can truly continue without any danger of failure, because her hobby was to become the pinnicle aspect she would perfect for the rest of her life.

Flightly Hoof slowly drifted away from ManeTube and became a live performer. She was a superstar who travelled the entirety of Equestria. Her wish to earn enough money to support her family was realized. Her pessimism was subsided by her confidence that Anything is Possible. At every opprotunity, Flightly Hoof would thank the few friends she still had that flew with her for the entire journey.

"It was thanks to you that I had a desire to fly; it was you that gave me a freedom I thought I could never achieve," she would say on the most dreary of nights and most happiest of days, "and it was you who supported me and allowed me to grow like this, to be something I wanted to be: useful."
